Based on our proposal submitted to the Italian government, to provide an integrated field hospital to treat the casualties of fighting in Sirte. The Italian government has approved and coordinated with us in this matter, having sent a special delegation headed by the director of the military hospital in Rome,
and accompanied by some military figures and doctors from the Italian Ministry of Defence. On Sunday 14th of August 2016 they had a field visit to inspect the construction site, and a proposal was made to form a joint Libyan-Italian Committee to oversee outfitted and equipped hospital components and start being transferred to Libya for operation, and will, God willing, in the next few days. In this regard, we held a meeting in Misrata two days ago in which we agreed to provide all necessary support and facilities so that the hospital starts to work as soon as possible. Also to give treatment to the casualties, and follow-up on wounded cases after their return from treatment abroad, and will be with God’s help the base of a military hospital that can benefit all Libyans.
